I have this wonderful apron that was my great grandmother's. My great grandmother was born in 1891 and I was blessed to have spent a lot of time with her when I was a pre-teen in the late 1960's and 70's. I remember asking her when I was probably 9 or so if she wore a dress everyday. She said "oh this old thing it is just my house dress or work dress". I remember her wearing a house dress in the prettiest softest calico and a lovely calico apron over it much like a pinafore. I always loved the feel of her aprons which she made herself probably when she was a young wife in the early 1920's. I am now excited to find a pattern to make some of these
Edwardian Aprons

This website has wonderful period dress patterns as well.

Launch of The Watermelon Stand Blog

Welcome to the Watermelon Stand Blog!!! We here at the Watermelon Stand are excited to share our Blog with  you. We have had many projects going on here..

We recently have been sewing up some printed Bunting Flag Banners.

These banners were printed on the computer!!! We used Bubble Jet 2000  to set the ink into the fabric.
This has been really fun.
We have these for sale and custom order in our Etsy store.
The images on our banner are actual scans of our ancestors pictures, we can include your ancestors photos or you can borrow ours for your family banner!!!
Here are some projects we made with some graphics we got from the Graphics Fairy...

We also have been hard at work on our house....

You can take a tour and hopefully get some more decorating ideas....just click on the picture above.
As always it is a work in progress, many of the pictures will be before pictures. We have a good start though!!
